Cool Gear Alert!
Omega Amps Guitar players,
If you are familiar with Fender's popular Hot Rod series amplifiers, then you know they're some of the best portable, powerful "working player" amps around, with a classic "Fender clean" sound that works great with overdrive and distortion pedals. HOWEVER, you probably also know that these amps don't have much of an overdrive or "lead" channel. Oh sure, they have one, actually two, but IMO, both sound harsh and just plain unmusical, something most players just don't use, opting instead to use the clean channel with pedals.
On the other hand, why not be able to take advantage two killer overdrive channels on these amps? Well, that's what Jim Chapman at Omega Amps asked, and then answered with a complete redesign of both channels. And he's got it down to a reliable, repeatable and affordable process!
Jetter Gear Pedals For tones you cannot get anyplace else, pedal-heads, please check out the incredible tones from the Jetter Gain Stage OD Pedals. These come in an incredible selection and are some of the best built, best sounding overdrive pedals on the market!

Revival, September, 2009, The Hole In The Wall, Dallas, Tx. Recorded with a low-cost stereo microphone out in the middle of the crowd, this clip still gives a good demo of an Omega Amps modified Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. No overdrive pedals, just the new and improved amp's overdrive channel. Guitar players who know what the stock amp's overdrive channel sounds like should be especially surprised at how articulate and musical it now sounds! |

Revival, November, 2005, Lakewood Bar & Grill, Dallas, Tx. A slowed down, groove oriented version of this great Allman Brothers Classic Yours Truly on the Corcidin bottle slide. Apologies but no regrets to Allman Brothers and Gibson guitar fans who don't expect to hear this played on a Fender Stratocaster. That night, it just worked out that way. |

home jam session, Laid back Sunday afternoon jam. Marcy is awesome here - makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. I have no idea what influenced the guitar solo, it just seemed to fit. |

Revival, July, 2004, The Pigeon Hole, Irving, Tx. This Herbie Hancock standard has been covered a lot by jazz, rock and top 40 dance bands, but before you say, "Again?", give this a listen. There is nothing 'standard' about the solid, intense groove that Paul and Jake give this one. |

Revival, July, 2006, The Hole in The Wall, Dallas, Tx. Excerpt taken from our favorite end-of-the-night, pull-out-the-stops, groove-driven, feel-good dance song. This solo is heavily influenced by the Dallas based 70's band, "Fancy Space and The Rockin' Rhythm Daddys, featuring the amazing Bugs Henderson on guitar. |

Revival, March, 2006, The Hole in The Wall, Dallas, Tx. First off, it's important to understand, "It Ain't What You Think". This is Revival's version of The Funky Meter's version of the Steve Miller song from the 70's. Clear as mud? Then maybe you should just hear for yourself. Very funky. Solo Order: Skeeter and I 'trade fours' here, with Skeeter starting, then we 'trade two's', 'trade one's', etc... |

Revival, March, 2006, The Hole in The Wall, Dallas, Tx. Greg Allman tune from his "Laid Back" album. 6/8 ballad that drops a beat when it goes to double time; a weird tempo and still they dance to it. Solo Order: Part I - yours truly, Part II - Jim on piano. |

Slow Minor Thing - 3.5MB MP3 Audio with Backing Track
Recorded March, 2007, Dallas, Tx. Higher recording quality home recording with a digital backing track. Lots of overdrive and sustain. Otherwise a real challenge to keep up the phrasing at an ultra slow tempo. |

Revival, November, 2005, Lakewood Bar & Grill, Dallas, Tx. A real burner - Originally written and performed by Commander Cody and The Lost Planet Airmen, who also gave us "Hot Rod Lincoln" and "Smoke, Smoke, Smoke That Cigarette", the song really is too much fun. This one is dedicated to the great redneck jazz & jump blues bar bands of the 70's, including Commander Cody and Zorro & The Blue Footballs. Solo
